The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and we are almost halfway through the year! How do those resolutions look?
Today marks the first day in the month of June. I’ve had five months to work on the goals I set on New Years Eve. How’s it going? Let’s find out now!
-
-
Redesigning the Blog.
I like the look! It’s pretty and clean, but I feel like I want to do more.
-
-
-
Sharpen my Spanish.
I haven’t worked on this much at all. I sometimes message Aaron in Spanish on Facebook, just to be comfortable having conversations in it. It’s still not enough though, not even close!
-
-
-
Learn a New Language.
Both coding and human languages feel like no progress has been made in the past month. I feel like it’s impossible to dedicate all my energy to working on my physical health AND make a big career switch!
-
-
-
Do Blogmas.
Last month I had 18 ideas, now I’m at 21! Baby steps.
-
-
-
Post Consistently on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
I had a consistent month! So far, just that one hectic weekend in April was my first and only flub.
-
-
-
Take Care of My Hair.
My hair is blonder now! I’m doing a mask once or twice a month! It looks shiny and healthy!
-
-
-
Read the Books I Didn’t Read Last Year.
I finished “The Chiffon Trenches: A Memoir” by Andre Leon Talley and “Marilyn” by Gloria Steinem! However, the other two (… three?!) books I’ve read this month were not on the original list. I need to go back to the list!
-
-
-
Moisturize with Sunscreen Every Day.
Consider this routine = established! <- Wrote this last month. It’s still true!
-
-
-
Drink More Water.
This is the hardest part of 75Hard for me. I’m mostly chugging water into late into the night! I must fix this to make daily consumption all morning and afternoon a habit.
-
-
-
Play Chess Once a Week.
I think about this a lot. I’m still putting off this goal, but when I think about it, there’s no reason Aaron and I can’t throw a game in every once in a while. <- yet to play a single game. I hope I have better news next month. <- I do not. Drat.
-
-
-
Finally watch “The Crown,” “Little Fires Everywhere,” “The Undoing,” “The Haunting of Hill House,” and “The Haunting of Bly Manor.”
All I have left is “Little Fires Everywhere,” and then my OTHER list of shows. So much TV, so little time. However, of all my resolutions, I think this is the one with the best (and most) progress!

-
-
Become a Master Listener on Audible and Earn All Audible Badges.
I didn’t listen to Audible during the month, except the tail end. About two weeks ago, I discovered an Israeli actress and activist who wrote a book on the history of Israel, and it came with an Audible version! With the current unrest across the world on the conflict, I couldn’t resist a way to educate myself more on the matter. In conclusion, I will be chipping through it on my walks!

-
Run a 30 Minute 5K.
Once again, there is nothing by way of news regarding a 2021 Food and Wine 5K. It’s past April, runDisney! What are you waiting for here? Most of Florida’s COVID restrictions are finished. Disney parks are still filled with people. Let us run through Disney like wild animals! Or something. That’s how it works, right? Once I have this knowledge, I will be making this goal a reality. In the meantime, plenty of walks, yoga, and biking in my immediate past and future.
-
-
-
Actually Use My Camera.
With the current pandemic, I haven’t had much to photograph. However, I have trips planned for the rest of the year! I will need to bring it!
-
-
-
Whiten My Teeth.
I didn’t have a good month with this one. I can do better this month! It’s “Toothpaste Tuesday!”
-
-
-
Write More.
Of all my resolutions, I feel like I want this one the most. Here’s the thing. I want to write, improve my physical health, practice coding, watch all those TV shows, watch movies, AND have ME time to do mindless browsing so my brain doesn’t get overwhelmed. I’m so torn! How do I prioritize this stuff?

Looking at this progress report of all my 2021 New Years resolutions, I only have one opinion: It’s mediocre at best. Certainly, I KNOW I can do better. Come on, June. Let’s kick it in the keister!
