75 Hard Update: Wow, this is Hard.

75hard

75 Hard was going great! Then people visited and it was bad.

I made it to day 38 of 75 Hard. I was doing so well! Then, tragedy struck when I had a really fun weekend with Aaron’s best friend and his lovely family at a theme park, a driving range, and more. Calories were consumed, water was not consumed, and workouts were neglected. With 75 Hard, if you miss one day, you gotta start over again the next day with Day 1!

As a result, I believe this is take five. After doing this for a month, I have a new perspective and new ideas on how to make this work.

So, here’s a progress report on what I’ve done so far, and where I want to go.

75 Hard Progress Report

75 Hard Rule The Road So Far What Lies Ahead
Pick a diet and stick to it I was doing just CiCo, and I was not TECHNICALLY cheating, but I would calculate things a certain way in MyFitnessPal to ensure that I didn’t go over my limit. Not the most productive! As such, I’m trying something new this time around, something that doesn’t involve calorie counting! Behold: The French Diet. This consists mainly of small portions, slower eating, no processed food, rare snacking (and only small snacks, once a day at most), lots of water, and kitchen closes after dinner. See that? No foods to cut out, no calorie counting. This is how French women stay thin… along with regular exercise!
2 45-Minute Workouts a Day, 1 Workout Outside I was crushing this one! Morning walks are good for the soul. When I wanted to sleep in before work, I use my lunch break to go for a bike ride! The exposure to the sun has been great for giving me a tan. I would also go to the gym, walk the house, or do yoga at night! However, I would end up super late doing yoga before bed. Not great for my sleep schedule! I’m doing well with this aspect… I just need to finish before 10 PM!
Drink 1 gallon of water This was NOT going well. Yes, the water was getting in, but I would end up guzzling water until 1 in the morning, making my sleep patterns horribly interrupted. Moving forward, I’m going to drink more during the day! The whole premise of this is to develop better habits, and this is one habit everyone should have.
Take a progress photo daily Super easy!I was noticing progress in the photos. In short, I am going to continue to crush it!
No alcohol, no cheat days I’m starting over, aren’t I? However, I barely noticed the lack of alcohol. I missed getting a mimosa at brunch with friends, but that’s kind of it. Firstly, I will continue to not do alcohol. In addition, my current mentality re: the French Diet should make it easier to indulge without going overboard or failing. It’s called elbow room!

In conclusion, the 74 Hard experience so far has been a mixed bag! I’ve been doing well with some aspects, and others need work. Baby steps to health. Here I come!
