Look cool and stay warm with my five favorite winter accessories!
In an ideal world, during the summer, I throw on a baseball hat, a tee shirt, and shorts. Lace up some high-tops and I’m ready to go! Compare that to my ideal winter wardrobe, and you’ll see something far more elaborate! I salute those who can wear tights and mini-skirts in forty degree weather. I much prefer the warmth! However, prioritizing comfort doesn’t mean compromising on style. The right accessory can help you survive and serve looks. Did I phrase that correctly?
Here’s a quick look at my go-to, top five , favorite winter accessories.
Favorite Winter Accessories
- Fuzzy Socks – The thicker the sock, the greater the propensity for warm feet. Here’s a fun fact about me: I could be standing in 100-degree weather and chances are, my feet will still feel cold! Fuzzy socks keep me comfortable. I often pick bright colors or quirky prints, for a little bit of personality.
- Burberry Coat/Scarves – Granted, I’m on a budget, so I don’t actually HAVE one of these. However, Yves Saint Laurent said it best: “fashions fade, style is eternal.” This plaid, classic pattern is timeless, clean, and instantly recognizable. Stay warm, and fabulous… but save your pennies first. The average Burberry coat goes for at least 2,000 USD!
- Warm Boots – As we segue from the nineties bucket hats and mom jeans, there’s been rumblings for a rebirth of the 2000s sense of fashion. I hope that Uggs will make a comeback as a result! The fluffy interior keeps things warm on slush filled days. Again, keep the feet warm and dry on snow days. However, while I prefer things cozy, you can stay warm with a good tall boot, too! Ariana Grande has made this an art form.
- “Leather Gloves” – To clarify, I avoid wearing animals as much as possible. As a result, I’m partial to a “pleather” or “vegan leather” glove. Leather gloves look so elegant during the colder months! A fur (ahem, faux fur) lining just adds to the luxurious look, feel, and comfort. A quality pair of “leather” gloves can keep your fingers warm, and make you look like a stylish woman about town.
- Beanies – No, I’m not talking about the money pit/cuddly buddies from my childhood. I’m talking about a slouchy, cozy hat! Protect your hair from snow and sleet. In addition, you can keep your ears warm. Chapped ears are a real concern, as the dry cold air impacts sensitive skin! Slap it on a stylish blowout for a seemingly effortless “I woke up like this” look. If you literally “woke up like this,” a beanie can also cover a bad hair day! Stylish, warm, and a low-key life hack. Could you ask for a better accessory?
I think a lot of designers would agree: less is more! My favorite winter accessories can be combined to make any statement… even if that statement is just “I am too cold and wish I were still in bed.” Stay warm, look cool!
