My five favorite makeup products perfectly encapsulate my preferred looks: neutral or classic glam!
I know I sound like a broken record, but it’s true: makeup has not been a priority for me throughout the pandemic! As Omicron rears its ugly head, the pandemic and my preference for the natural threaten to stick around longer. All of this to say, when I HAVE used makeup, it’s been only two looks:
1 – Natural. That Keira Knightley in “Pride and Prejudice” look is my go-to these days!
2 – The Taylor Swift. This is just a natural face, but there’s winged eyeliner and a red lip.
Both looks get the job done and take roughly ten minutes! Subsequently, I cannot speak more highly of the makeup I use to create them.
My Top Five Favorite Makeup Products
- Yves St Laurent Vinyl Cream Liquid Lipstick, Burgundy Vibes. I’m literally wearing it right now! Recommended by a friend, this dark red is romantic, long lasting, and doesn’t wind up on the teeth seconds after applying! Now thats a win win win.
- Rare Beauty Highlighter, Enchant. Can Selena Gomez do no wrong? Sel’s new makeup company produces fun and flirty products. This highlighter is light, creamy, and a pretty little pink! This is perfect if, like me, you’re just looking for that little extra sparkle to your rosy glow.
- Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer, Taupe. This guy has been a mainstay in my makeup drawer practically since I started filling in my eyebrows. One side brushes the brows, the other draws in color on an angle. I haven’t tweeted, waxed or shaved my eyebrows in over six months. This guy’s got me covered!
- Tarte Maracuja Tinted Moisturizer, 13N Fair to Light Neutral. Okay, admittedly, I’ve been using foundation less and less this year! However, when I do go for the full face, I’m sponging on this guy. Similar to the Rare Beauty highlighter, it’s so light that it feels like I’m wearing nothing at all!
- Stila Convertible Color, Lillium (nude pink). That Keira Knightley look would be nothing without this product! I stumbled upon it while falling down a rabbit hole of how to create Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman look. Am I Diana Prince? No. Am I Keira Knightley? Also no. But this does make me look all rosy and sun kissed! I recommend applying above the apples of the cheek using your fingers, and then rubbing the excess on your chin. Perfection!
My top five favorite makeup products are all light, cruelty free, and provide just the elevation I need to take my natural face to full of grace. When you find something that works, hold tight and don’t let go! When you find FIVE THINGS that work, you’ve got a Festivus miracle!
