I have a better feeling about May. This week, I say goodbye to my biggest distractions.
Yesterday, I took a sick day to rest after yet another dehydration headache. As the pain slowly dissolved, I found myself itching to do SOMETHING productive. While still weak, I reflected on how ready I am to make the changes I need to succeed. Last week, I noted my biggest distractions (not the first time I’ve mentioned it, either!). To clarify, I noted how I would be taking a step back from my biggest distractions. Yesterday, I digested how to block out my time to commit to the premise.
The overall results came pretty naturally! An hour for creative efforts or physical activity after work, reading before bed, and going to sleep by 9:30. My time blocking seems pretty perfect. However, it only stays perfect when I don’t have weeks like these.
Firstly, my running schedule is off-kilter, due to travel circumstances. As well, my efforts to remove binge-watching television from my routine sit hindered by the need to finish “Bridgerton.” I leave to visit friends on Thursday, and my return to “normalcy” will mostly begin on Monday, May 2nd.
Until then, I’m indulging in a final week of my distractions. “Bridgerton” will be the last show I binge watch for a while. I will take more time out in the morning to write, and less time in the evenings in front of reruns or Youtube. Certainly, I’m phasing into this optimal, efficient routine. I still woke up early this morning for breathwork and cardio! In addition, I made a green juice for breakfast. I’ll get back on track yet. After this week, my distractions don’t just take a backseat. They’re getting in a sidecar that gets left on the side of the road, with fast food wrappers crammed to the sides.
