Sprinting into the holiday season? Hit the finish line faster with my holiday cardio playlist!

In November, I completed a 5K for the first time! It was so much fun that I immediately signed up for another. I took a mild break from running, in the sense that I’ve only run once a week, not three! However, with my next 5K three months away, it’s time to pick up the training. With Hannukah in the rearview mirror, Christmas in two days, and New Year’s Eve a week away, I have a perfectly curated holiday cardio playlist just for running! If you’re looking to sweat off the Christmas Party bloat in preparation for the Christmas morning photos, I’ve got it covered.

Here’s a quick holiday cardio playlist to run like the winter wind!

Holiday Cardio Playlist

  1. Run Rudolph Run – Chuck Berry.

Ever run through O’Hare to catch a flight? The McCallisters have!

  2. Into the Unknown – Panic! at the Disco

. Pop punk is the best running music out there. This cover from “Frozen 2” works as a good song to pick up speed!

  3. Father Christmas – The Kinks.

I never really paid much attention to this song until this year. It’s kind of a bummer, lyrically, but it’s catchy and got a good beat to keep you on pace!

  4. All I Want for Christmas Is You – Mariah Carey. She’s always there… lurking in the shadows. That’s right, blast it, jam out, and enjoy.

  5. Underneath the Tree – Kelly Clarkson.

This song will keep you at the same pace as the Mariah Carey tune! Consistency is key for endurance training!

  6. Let it Snow – “glee” Cast.

Listen listen listen! I’m not saying that the original doesn’t work in a cardio setting. Oh, wait, that’s exactly what I’m saying! This version is fun and has classic big band energy. This will keep the energy going!

  7. The Nutcracker, Russian Dance – Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

“The Nutcracker” is a Christmas classic. Make running to this track each year another! If it helps, imagine you’re chasing a bouncy ball through a mall.

  8. Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree – Hannah Montana. Oh yeah! I went with ANOTHER cover! If memory serves me right, Miley Cyrus (um, I mean, Hannah Montana) performed this at a Disney Christmas parade. It’s just fun and filled with nostalgia!

  9. It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year – Andy Williams.

This classic acts as a good song to slow down slightly. That way, when the finale comes in, you’re ready to sprint for your life.

  10. Christmas Eve/Sarajevo – Trans Siberian Orchestra.

This track modernizes “Carol of the Bells” in the most epic way. I defy anyone to not push their fastest in the last thirty seconds!

  11. Lost in the Woods – Weezer.

Yes, it’s another pop punk band. Yes, it’s another pop punk band covering a song from “Frozen 2.” This song works to slow and cool down after the run.

This playlist is roughly thirty-two minutes long! Just enough time to fit after your last work day or before you get ready for New Years Eve. Get ready to run like a reindeer!
